The Peak District has many farm shops and farmers markets providing an abundance of local produce. Bakewell's farmers' market on the last Saturday of the month is highly reccomended with produce ranging through the Peak District to Staffordshire and Lincolnshire. |
Lychgate is at the gateway to the Peak district which is England's oldest national Park.It has some of the best walking , cycling, climbing and caving in England. The High Peak and Tissington cycle trails run through the Peak District. Carsington water is close to Lychgate and provides water sport activities. | |

15-20 minute drive to Chatsworth , Haddon Hall, Carsington Water, Froggatt Edge, Bakewell, Dovedale, the Derwent valley, Cromford canal (Arkwright's Mill), Chesterfield as well as the many other attractions of the Peak District.
It is within walking distance of Matlock Bath ,Gulliver's kingdom and the Heights of Abraham.
There are two very good walks straight from the cottage--to Riber castle with spectacular views down over Matlock and then also to High Tor and down to Matlock Bath.
